When politicians attack the very institutions that gave them their start, we should all pay attention.

Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos wants to cut $87 million from the UW System - claiming conservative students don't feel welcome. But as The Lincoln Project's Trygve Olson points out, Vos has been involved with the UW System longer than almost anyone. They went to college together. Vos was even the first student regent.

This isn't about making campuses better. It's about politicians deciding what can be taught and who deserves an education. And while they play politics, talented educators are leaving Wisconsin for states that actually value education.
