Thank you, Carl! 🥹

Meet Carl – one of our Clinical Study Heroes! Carl is 16 years old and belongs to assistant teaching professor Calico Schmidt. He acted as the healthy control cat in this study focused on kidney disease in felines. Carl helps researchers find a healthy baseline for measuring cats’ key kidney functions. Thanks for your help, Carl!

Clinical studies allow researchers to develop new and more effective diagnostic and treatment options. UW Veterinary Care clinicians and staff are dedicated to raising the standard of care by using the latest technologies, while also performing research to advance veterinary and human medicine now and in the future.

All studies at the School of Veterinary Medicine are voluntary. To learn more, or to have your animal take part in a clinical study, visit https://uwveterinarycare.wisc.edu/veterinary-clinical-studies/
