From Q-92 Radio News.....

On August 20, 2025, at approximately 1:40 PM, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that an individual in a skid loader had slid down into a drainage ditch and was trapped in the loader near the 2900 block of 440th Street, in rural Clarkfield, Minnesota.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found the skid loader on its side, fully submerged in a drainage ditch. After an extended effort, rescue teams were able to recover the operator from the equipment. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Dustin Lucius Virkus, age 51, of Clarkfield.
