BBTV WEATHER UPDATE (3 PM 5/25/21):
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for much of western and northern Wisconsin until 10 PM tonight. Thunderstorms are currently developing across far eastern MN and western WI, and will be moving east this evening. Large hail and high winds are the main threats, but a lower-end tornado risk also exists. Stay tuned for updates.

FINAL BBTV FORECAST FOR SPRING 2020:

For this finals week, expect a cooler-than-normal pattern to take hold, with rain likely on Tuesday and days of sunshine in between.

141 forecast videos and dozens of Facebook updates later, BBTV Weather wraps up its 4th year of operations and I'm just a few days away from graduating as a degreed meteorologist. While we all may have been forced to go our separate, socially-distanced ways from Madison this semester, we are thankful for your support. BBTV Weather Update for Monday, April 20th:

A cold front will track across Wisconsin on Monday, and with plentiful cold air aloft, it will spark some showers and thunderstorms, moving into southern Wisconsin during the mid-afternoon hours. Rumbles of thunder possible, maybe some locally gusty winds and brief small hail. Next weather system approaches on Wednesday afternoon, with widespread cloudiness expected and occasional rain showers possible through Saturday.

BBTV Weather Update for Friday, April 10th:

A developing low pressure system in the Plains will bring a brief warm up on Saturday along with widespread rain by the afternoon hours. As the low passes late Sunday, temperatures will plummet and a changeover to snow is likely. Heaviest snow will likely stay to the north of Madison, but 1-3" of accumulation is likely on campus on Monday, with breezy conditions.

BBTV Forecast Update for Friday, April 3rd:

A cold front sliding across the Upper Midwest on Friday will bring more clouds and a decent chance for rain showers during the late afternoon and evening. Early on Saturday morning some snowflakes may mix in briefly here in Madison, but beyond that, the sun will remain out for the rest of the weekend. More mild and unsettled weather returns the first half of next week. Stay healthy Badgers!

SNOWFALL SHIFT: BBTV Weather Update, 3 PM Monday

Since the production of the weather report video on Sunday evening, significant shifts to the forecast have been made. The heavy axis of snow is now expected to stay in central and northern Illinois, with Madison receiving a dusting at most. Cloudy skies will prevail on Tuesday, and winds are still expected to pick up on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, with temperatures falling as the surface low passes to the east.
