Becoming is Messy

Becoming is Messy Just lots of reminders that even in the mess, we are magic.

A community for fellow and future Messies (anyone navigating the beautiful, chaotic, sometimes WTF journey of healing, growth, and self-discovery) No pretending we have it all figured out.

There are moments in life where you don’t have the answers.

Where things feel uncertain, heavy, or just… unclear.

And everything in you wants to figure it out, fix it, or control what happens next.

But sometimes the most powerful thing you can do
is take a breath…
and choose to trust anyway.

This conversation reminded me that faith isn’t about knowing how it will all unfold.
It’s about believing you’ll be okay, even when you don’t.

If you’re in a season where things feel unknown or unsettled (aren't we all feeling a bit of that right now), this one is for you. 💛

Most of us entered the workplace without ever learning how to regulate our nervous systems or unpack the survival patterns we picked up long before we had job titles.

And yet we’re expected to lead.

I’m honored to be speaking at the TraumaWise Workplace Summit (March 2–6) — a free, 5-day online event for leaders who want trauma-informed strategies that actually hold up in real workplaces.

In my session, I’ll be teaching from my Imperfect LEVEL UP Framework — seven competencies that help leaders move from performance and burnout into grounded, authentic leadership.

This isn’t about fixing people.
It’s about building capacity.
Felt-safety. Connection. Co-regulation. Real growth.

If you care about leading in a way that supports both results and wholeness, I’d love to see you there.

The world feels a little loud right now, doesn’t it?

In this week’s episode of Becoming is Messy, I sat down with Christy Whitman to talk about something that feels especially relevant in this moment — how to move from chaos to calm.

We talked about embracing magic in a way that’s practical, not fluffy. About how our nervous system holds onto old survival patterns. About why so many of us are secretly afraid to feel good. About people-pleasing, watching our words, and learning to partner with the universe instead of fighting everything.

There’s one moment in the episode where we literally hug ourselves and talk about calming the limbic system. It sounds simple, but sometimes simple is exactly what we need.

If you’ve been feeling heavy, reactive, overstimulated, or just tired… this conversation might feel like a deep breath.

There comes a point in your becoming when logic alone stops being enough.

The signs start showing up, the nudges get louder, and your inner knowing asks you to trust what you cannot fully explain.

This week on Becoming Is Messy, I sit down with Valeria Maritza to talk about trusting synchronicities, embracing universal guidance, and learning to believe yourself before the proof arrives.

If you’ve been feeling the whisper… this conversation is for you.

Last night’s performance by genuinely moved me. I felt love, creativity, culture, and humanity all at once. It reminded me of the version of America I’m proud of. The one rooted in connection, expression, and care for one another.

Moments like that feel small, but they matter. They remind us what’s possible.

Feeling grateful and hopeful today.

02/08/2026

This video put words to something I have been feeling deeply for months.

So many people are exhausted, depressed, dysregulated, and carrying a quiet sense of trauma from years of instability and harm by systems and those in power. It makes sense that some want to burn everything down in rage, while others cling tightly to the status quo out of fear or benefit. Both reactions are understandable. Neither is the way forward.

What this moment is asking of us is not revolution through chaos. It is integration. It is nervous system healing. It is personal sovereignty.

We cannot change the world from a place of constant activation. We cannot make wise, bold decisions while dysregulated. This is the collective version of putting your own mask on first, not as selfishness, but as responsibility.

As soon as I declared my own personal sovereignty, I felt something deeply clear. Not just for me, but in how I relate to the world. I truly believe that regulated, self-trusting humans are the most powerful force for change we have. When we heal ourselves, we stop perpetuating the same patterns we are trying to dismantle.

This feels like our calling right now. Heal yourself. Regulate your nervous system. Reclaim your agency. From there, purpose becomes clear. From there, change becomes possible.

I am grateful for voices that help name this moment and remind us that the work starts within.

In a world that feels loud, chaotic, and overwhelming, so many of us are asking the same question:
What can I actually do right now?

The first episode of the brand-new year on Becoming is Messy just dropped—and the timing couldn’t feel more aligned.

Amy Weinland Daughters and I talk about a truth we both live by:
purpose doesn’t arrive all at once.
It’s revealed through the small nudges we choose to follow.

One whisper.
One small action.
One human moment at a time.

That’s how we live our purpose—especially in uncertain seasons.

Episode 41: Pass It On — The Quiet Power of Human Connection

This moment is heavy. And it is asking something of all of us.

If you feel overwhelmed right now, come back to yourself.

One brave step. One honest choice. One moment of love at a time.

Be the love.
Stay human.
Keep becoming.

If this resonated, please help remind others of the same and share this. Follow along for more reminders to support your healing and purpose at this critical moment

Much love and peace,

Meghann

This feels surreal to say out loud.

The Becoming is Messy manuscript is finished and officially in the hands of beta readers. 📖✨

For years, so many friends (and my inner voice) said, “You need to write a book.”
I heard it. I carried it. I doubted it.
And eventually… I did it.

This story was written because of the encouragement, the listening ears, the “keep going” messages, and the people who believed I could tell the truth and trust that love could hold it.

Thank you to everyone who ever nudged me toward my voice.
The book has been written.
And it’s finally being read.

You ever hear someone describe an experience and suddenly realize they’re putting words to something you’ve been quietly navigating yourself?
That’s what happened in this conversation with Jessica.

She talked about those seasons where you don’t have a clear roadmap, but you do have a feeling — and that feeling keeps tapping you on the shoulder until life starts reinforcing it in ways you can’t ignore.

It made me think about how many of us are carrying that same tug right now. The subtle knowing. The quiet discomfort. The sense that something in you is shifting even if the path forward isn’t obvious yet.

If you’re anywhere near that territory, this episode will meet you where you are. It’s grounding, honest, and exactly the kind of conversation that reminds you you’re not the only one trying to make sense of your own becoming.

Have you ever carried something for so long that it became part of who you are?
A secret. A shame. A story you were too afraid to tell.

You’re not alone.

This week on Becoming is Messy, I sat down with Darlene Lekowski, a woman who held her secret for fifty years—and finally found freedom in speaking it out loud.

Her story is raw, brave, and deeply human. It’s a reminder that silence doesn’t protect us; it only keeps us stuck. And that the truth—no matter how painful—can become the doorway to healing.

If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s too late to find peace, I hope this conversation reminds you that it’s not.
