Our congratulations go out to Tom Fox, a local Rabun County angler, who caught this BEAST of a brown while fishing Lake Burton on Memorial Day!

The behemoth brown trout weighed 12 pounds 4 oz on a certified scale, and would eclipse the current lake record if our friends at Georgia Outdoor News Magazine certify Tom’s catch.

Want a fish that tops the scales? Then we suggest skimming this week's fishing report: https://georgiawildlife.blog/2022/06/03/georgia-fishing-report-june-3-2022/

11 pounds and a personal Largemouth record for me 👊🏾 🎣
She’s a beauty and absolutely crushed the soft swimbait I was working.
And of course she goes back into the water so she can grow and get even bigger! 💪🏾

Thank you darlin’ for the dance and I’ll see you down the road 😉❤️

Hope you guys all had a great Memorial Day weekend 🇺🇸

Largemouth bass eat spinnerbaits. That alone should be enough to convince you they’ll consume anything that fits in their prodigious mouths. In case it’s not, here’s a little more evidence from the FWC Fish and Wildlife Resource Institute.
