Shot 4K footage of the eclipse, about 85% eclipsed here in Madison. Just wow! Sky was overcast until just after it started, then got very cool footage of clouds moving across as the eclipse developed. From then on it was clearly visible through a scrim of haze, but a polarizing filter on the lens cut some of that. During the peak at 1:15, the light was like a black pearl or a black mirror, shining yet dark.

Hi, Dave Haldiman here. Vision Forge Productions is my video production company, based in Madison, WI.

I’m a videographer, editor, producer and director. I was a cinematography fellow at the American Film Institute, and worked in L.A. (12 years) and throughout Australia (4+ years) before moving back to WI to help my family.

Vision Forge does full-service production (website, marketing, educational, training, documentary). And I'm available for one-off free-lance videography or editing jobs. Rates reasonable and flexible because I hire production and post-production people by the job, instead of keeping a staff.

My A-camera is a Canon C300 (4K capture, 1080p output) with four lenses. I also have Canon 7D, GoPro Hero 2 and Panasonic HPV-170 P2 cameras, as well as an array of daylight and tungsten lights; camera dolly and jib crane; wired and wireless sound gear; portable green/blue-screens. I edit with Final Cut Pro.
