When I think about Parker, I think about what a determined young ball player he is. Parker is a quiet little guy who works hard, keeps his composure no matter how tough the situation may be and never gives up. Parker is a wonderful teammate who has made amazing strides and continues to grow. I look forward to the bright future that this young man has ahead of him. 💙💪⚾️

What is Grit??
Grit is a personality trait characterized by perseverance and passion for long-term goals. It signifies the ability to maintain effort and interest in challenging pursuits, even when faced with obstacles or setbacks. Researchers like Angela Duckworth have shown that grit is a significant predictor of success, potentially more important than talent or intelligence alone. Grit is ELI. 💪⚾️

If you know this kid, you know that he’s the best teammate a player can have. He’s also the most determined athlete I’ve ever watched. What a pleasure it is to watch this little dude play. 💙

One of my favorite things about photography is that you are able to see things through a lens that aren’t quite as visible to everyone else. I see expressions, body language, fear, confidence, hustle, grit, etc.
I see coachable kids, non coachable kids and everything in between. Body language is huge in this sport. The eagerness to want to learn and being coachable is one of the major keys to a players success.

Look at this young man. He’s taking every bit of what his coach has to say in. He is eager. He is hungry. This is a coachable kid. I’ve witnessed so much progress this season by so many players. But, if I had to pick one kid who has made incredible improvement in this sport, it would be Brody. This kid is going places. Keep up the hard work young man!

It’s been a long week already for these guys. Back to back traveling and late nights. Heads high, boys! Get some rest and come back strong on Friday!

Madison County JV Mountaineers will play at home on Friday against Page County JV Panthers @ 6:30PM.
Varsity Mountaineers will travel to Page County on Friday for a 6PM game.

I only took photos of a few players tonight. Mainly pitchers. I was hoping to capture videos. But, it didn’t work out as planned.

Woodstock, VA

Congratulations to winning pitcher, Gage Hooser and the JV Mountaineers on an impressive win, dominating the Central Falcons 11-1. Despite the cold temps, almost 2 hour bus ride across the mountains and a 30 min “sun delay”, Madison players did not lose sight of their goal or upbeat energy.

Tonight, the JV Mountaineers will travel to East Rockingham to face the Eagles at 5:30PM. The Varsity Mountaineers will play at home, facing East Rockingham Varsity Eagles at 6:30PM.
