In our December 15th issue, in stands now, the Madison Black Chamber of Commerce and the ULGM Hub presented the 2025 Black Holiday Bazaar. S.S. Morris Community AME Church hosted its Annual Holiday Bazaar. Madym has been lifting up young Black women in the STEM fields. Dane County Immigration Affairs held its annual Appreciation Luncheon at the Goodman Community Center Christian Magby plays Jefferson and Lafayette in the play Hamilton coming to the Overture Center in January. In our November 3rd, Native American Heritage Month issue, Rachel Byington and Tim Fish are advocating for the interest of Native Americans in Wisconsin. Jessie Peterson guides Land Management and Araia Breedlove is the Communications director for the Lac du Flambeau Tribe in Northern Wisconsin. Sun Prairie’s Jamal Stone is appearing in the Broadway tour of Some Like It Hot. And the Urban League of Greater Madison celebrated with its Urban Cabaret at Monona Terrace. These are just some of the stories in Your Capital City Hues.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

In our September 22nd issue, hitting newsstands now, Percy Brown Jr. takes the reins of Lori Mann Carey Elementary School. Fabiola Hamdan was named the Dane County Community Programs Manager. Ja’Malik discusses Madison Ballet’s 2024-2025 season. Oscar Mireles is a 2025 LPA Yo Soy honoree. Dane Dances enjoyed another summer of dance and community on the Monona Terrace Rooftop. Omega Psi Phi celebrated Omega Weekend 2025 at McKee Farm Park. And Monona Terrace was filled with dancers dancing the night away at The Rainbow Project’s Rhumba for Rainbow. These are just some of the stories in Your Capital City Hu8es.

I saw APT's "The Barber and the Unnamed Prince, which I call " The Play Formerly Known as Chuck Brown. It was so awesome that people left the theater in absolute silence and were silent all the way to their cars. Gavin Lawrence has written a play worthy of the Kennedy Center and the cast was unbelievable. See it while you still can. It ends in two weeks.

Good Evening Everyone,

In our September 6th Latine Heritage Month issue, hitting stands now, Rodrigo Carapia and Sujhey Beisser begin out celebration with the Latino Professionals Association and Yo Soy. Lino and Maria, owners of El Pastor Mexican Restaurant, epitomize the hard work and work ethic of immigrants pursuing their American Dream. Juan Corpus is the new CEO of the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce. Ben Obregon was honored for his service to UMOS, Legal Action and other organizations at Fiesta Mexicana. The Southeast Asian Healing Center and its partners sponsored a Su***de Awareness and Prevention Month event on September 13th. And the spirit of Africa Fest could not be washed away in successive downpours on August 16th. These are just some of the stories in Your Capital City Hues.
