Advertiser Spotlight - Green Butterfly Atelier
All her life, Serena Flowers has been attracted to vintage clothing. Growing up in Kosciusko, she spent time around horses, and she developed a love for aged leather. By the time she was in middle school, she designed her own clothes, and her mother patiently sewed them for her. That’s when Serena began to value authenticity over trends and craftsmanship over mass production.
“My grandmother, Belva, served as Circuit Clerk in Attala County when I was growing up. She wore the most beautiful suits to work.” Serena had an eye for details, not only with her grandmother's impeccable outfits, but also for structure, negotiation, and storytelling. Those skills served her well later in life in her career as an attorney and government affairs strategist.
The same skills came into play with her newest venture. “I had three children who graduated from Madison Public Schools. My husband and I have a beautiful, blended family with seven children between us.” The couple split their time between homes in Madison and Olive Branch, and as the prospect of an empty nest became imminent, Serena fulfilled her long-time dream of opening a high-end vintage clothing boutique in Ridgeland.

The GB Atelier line is a series of one-of-a-kind vintage garments that are carefully reconstructed and reborn. Intentionally sourced and transformed through design and tailoring, no two garments are alike. “Every piece carries a story,” says Serena. “Some inherited, some reimagined, but all rooted in the belief that it’s never too late to evolve.”
As more people discover her boutique, Serena hopes that Green Butterfly will be more than a place to shop for clothing. “This is a place of belonging, discovery, and creative freedom, where personal style becomes storytelling, and transformation is not only welcomed but celebrated.”
