What you've all been waiting for! These are SHG's first year financials, and we couldn't be prouder! Haha, jokes aside, Sam and I are excited for the new year, and bigger news about Seadogs & Scallywags as well as other games in the works will come later this month for those who have been following (or for those new too).

For those who don't know, I work in corporate accounting and have some years experience as an auditor preparing many financial statements. I'd love to help anyone out for those seeking advice/help with creating or maintaining their books for their business. It doesn't have to be a board game related business either, I'm always eager to meet new people in the gaming space and learn what they're all about.

Is this the world record for amount of dice accumulated without spending a single penny?!?

I must say, though, MonopolyGO does NOT have my endorsement. In my eyes, it doesn’t even qualify as a game… you can check out our podcast, Spikology and Life from the Perspective of a Hat, to learn more about what Sam and I consider to be games. There’s not much meaningful agency in this phone game, if any at all actually, and it seems very “pay-to-win”esque. Anyway, here I am, still logging on everyday to collect my dice… 🎲 😞

We had an awesome time at Protospiel Madison this past Saturday!! So many cool games and game designers! We met a ton of great people and played a bunch of great games!

Big thanks to everyone who said hi and gave our game Seadogs & Scallywags a try! We got a bunch of great feedback!

The board game community truly is one of the most supportive and friendliest communities out there, and we’re definitely looking forward to more events like this in the future!!

Only two more days until SpikeHat Games attends Protospiel in Madison, WI! If you will be there as well please come up and say hi and play our game, Seadogs & Scallywags! We are very excited to both play games from other designers and meet a bunch of new people. Hopefully, this weekend will be a rite of passage into the greater game designing and publishing world. This will be a big push to get the SpikeHat Games name out there!

Anyone down for a game of Seadogs & Scallywags??
I just finished up a new physical prototype of our new game which we’re bringing to Protospiel Madison next weekend! Using real playing cards as the base gives them a much more professional feel that’s just awesome! (Art not final)

One of my favorite games! Ark Nova is a bit more complex and takes quite long to play, but it is so worth it! Building your own zoo is just too much fun.

This particular game, I think I hit my personal best with a score of 54!

If you haven’t played and are willing to play a complex, 3 hour game, then I can’t recommend Ark Nova enough.

Just got back from an insane Halloween display in Little Chute Wisconsin and wow! It's incredible how much some people get into the holidays and their enthusiasm is hard to ignore! My own decorations feel woefully inadequate haha!
