The following local schools have modified schedules today, Friday, Dec. 12, 2025: Madison Consolidated Schools-Synchronous Virtual Learning Day; Southwestern Schools-Closed with make-up date Monday, Feb. 16, 2026; Prince of Peace Catholic Schools-E-Learning Day with assignments posted by 9 a.m in Google Classroom; Canaan Academy-Closed; Christian Academy of Madison-E-Learning Day; Switzerland County Schools-Synchronized E-Learning Day; Carroll County and Trimble County Schools both Non-Traditional Instruction Day; and Christian Academy of Carrollton-Virtual Learning Day.

Hanover Parks Department reports that due to the weather, the Hanover Senior Citizens center will be closed on Friday December 12. This means all scheduled activities including cards and the senior meal are canceled.

Just received word that the Carroll County at Russell KHSAA Class 3A playoffs football game has been moved up a day to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 due to anticipated inclement weather on Friday. Carroll (5-5) will make the 360-mile round trip to Russell (8-2) on Thursday.

The only other local KHSAA playoff game was already scheduled for Thursday. Trimble County (2-8) plays Newport Central Catholic (6-4) in the Class 1A playoffs at 7 p.m. Thursday at Covington Catholic.
