IMPORTANT PHONE NUMBER UPDATE – STARTS AUGUST 5

Starting Monday, August 5, you must dial all 10 digits (area code + phone number) when making any calls in the 423 area code. This applies to everyone calling from within or outside the 423 area.

Affected counties in East Tennessee include:
Hamilton, Marion, Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Rhea, Meigs, Bradley, McMinn, Monroe, and Polk.

🔹 If you have a 423 number, your number will NOT change.
🔹 911 and other 3-digit services (like 211 or 988) will still work the same.
🔹 If you're calling a 423 number from a different area code, you must also dial all 10 digits.

NEW AREA CODE COMING:
Once all 423 numbers are used up, new phone numbers in this area will be assigned the 729 area code beginning September 5.

Be sure to update your contacts and devices to include full 10-digit numbers!
