It's Thursday! And once again the Farmers Market will be right across the street from Klementine's in downtown Madisonville.

Our booth at Klem-in-time's is fully stocked with soaps, soap savers, lotions, lip balms, and sugar scrubs! Our booth is on the left as soon as you go in the door 🚪

The store will be open till 7:00 PM tonight so come out and enjoy some live music while you browse the farmers market and listen to the music. 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

My name is Latasha Leming, I am a certified herbalist and the founder of Ponderosa Blends, a small-batch herbal wellness brand rooted in the heart of East Tennessee. I’ve lived here my whole life, surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and inspired by all the natural remedies this region has to offer. I graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources and a minor in psychology.

I am blessed with a very supportive husband and two teenage daughters, who inspire me daily and share in my love for living a simple, natural lifestyle.

My journey into herbalism began as a personal one. After years of struggling with chronic migraines, digestive issues, and sleep problems, I turned to herbs in search of relief. What started as an experiment quickly grew into a deep passion for natural healing and the powerful connection between plants and wellness.

Through study, certification, and hands-on experience, I learned how to blend traditional herbal wisdom with practical, everyday use. Today, Ponderosa Blends is the result of that journey — a reflection of my belief that true wellness starts with simple, natural ingredients crafted with care and intention.

I often say I have a small backyard pharmacy — it’s where I turn whenever I’m in pain, catch a cold, have a fever, or need to support my health in a natural way. I truly have all I need right here in my backyard for myself and my family.

In addition to herbal wellness blends, I also create natural skincare products such as lip balms and soaps, made to gently care for our body’s largest organ — the skin. Each product is formulated with pure, plant-based ingredients that nourish and protect without harsh chemicals or synthetic additives.

At Ponderosa Blends, everything is made in small batches with high-quality ingredients, thoughtful formulas, and a whole lot of heart. My goal is to help others discover the beauty and balance that comes from using what nature so generously provides.

Did you know that every bar of my handmade soap is a labor of love — and a little bit of science too? From carefully measuring oils and lye, to understanding the chemical reactions, every batch takes hours of work before it’s even poured. Then comes the waiting — sometimes 4–6 weeks — for the soap to cure and be safe and gentle on your skin.

After that, I wrap or package each bar, design the labels, take them to markets, post online, answer questions, and keep everything stocked. That’s a lot of time, care, and effort for just one little bar of soap!

I use all-natural ingredients — no harsh chemicals, no shortcuts — because I want my soaps to nourish your skin, smell amazing, and be safe for your family.

So when you see my soaps priced at $6 instead of $2 like the big box stores, now you know why. Every bar represents my time, my skill, and my heart poured into it.
