The 2026 General Election is just one month away, and it is time for local candidates to present their case for your vote. Each election, The Messenger and Dawson Springs Progress provides readers with articles focused on those running for office and their positions on issues important to their constituents.
Emails have been sent today to the various hopefuls in county and city races. If someone is running unopposed, or if a council or commission has just enough candidates to fill those bodies, we will not run articles for those offices.
We are requesting assistance in tracking down a handful of those who have filed for the November ballot. Emails are not available for the following candidates:
Scotty Harvey - Nortonville mayor
Robinett Woodruff and Sheila Suttles - St. Charles mayor
David Dunlap - White Plains commission
If you are one of these candidates, or if you know them, please send an email to [email protected] so we can get those questions to them.
For the candidates, please find the deadline in the bottom of the email that outlines how the stories will be structured. If you did not receive an email, please check your spam folder. If one does not appear, please email [email protected] to make sure we have the correct address. These were sent to the email used during filing with the Hopkins County Clerk's office.
