A class moves forward, together💛

The North Zulch High School Class of 2026 closed out their senior year Friday, May 22 with commencement at the North Zulch Gymnasium. Each of the 17 graduates wore a button bearing a photo of classmate Chloe Rae Montrese McLain, who died May 5 following a single-vehicle crash on FM 247. Senior Thade Brown was recognized alongside his Marine Corps recruiter for his enlistment after graduation. Graduates moved into the bleachers during the Presentation of Roses, handing red and white roses to family members, teachers and others who shaped their high school years. School Resource Officer Matt Srader, a Madison County sheriff’s deputy, also received roses from the class.🖤

143 Mustangs walk the stage❤️

Members of the Madisonville High School Class of 2026 celebrate Thursday, May 21 during commencement at the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville. The 143-member class gathered at Sam Houston State University as the MHS Varsity Band opened the ceremony with “Pomp and Circumstance.” Salutatorian Jillian Hardy and valedictorian Jackson Zanolini addressed their classmates before Principal Shelli Sheppard confirmed the graduates and the MCISD Board of Trustees presented diplomas. The band closed out the night with the Alma Mater and Recessional as the new graduates filed out.

A man already behind bars faces a second-degree felony charge tied to a 2025 Midway burglary, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Michael Alonzo Nealy was named in an arrest warrant May 18 for burglary of a habitation, officials said.

Madisonville High School seniors accept local scholarships at the annual MHS Senior Scholarship Ceremony on Tuesday, May 5, in the high school auditorium.
