A former Madison County deputy is standing trial for a sexual assault that happened 25 years ago.

Ivan Linebaugh worked for the sheriff's office until 2011. He ran for sheriff in 2016.

DNA genealogy cracked the case open in 2020.

Reading is Fundamental offered to send 3,000 books to the City of Midway. After some discussions, the number of titles is 1,500, and they are being distributed to four elementary schools.

Midway’s youngest readers are set to receive 1,500 new books from a national literacy nonprofit. The donation comes from Reading Is Fundamental, which initially offered to send 3,000 books before City Secretary Debra Newkirk asked them to scale the shipment down.

Firefighters are on scene of a fully involved structure fire on Eastridge Lane. Madisonville VFD, North Zulch VFD, Midway VFD and MCSO are responding.

One occupant is being treated for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.
