I do not count anything as a loss in my garden but rather a lesson.

I chose to go ahead and remove this squash plant because I knew it was riddled with bugs.

I live being able to dissect it leaf by leaf and inspect the damage, visualize the different bugs + larvae inside so that I can dive deeper into research and learn how to hopefully avoid them next year.

Gardening is all about learning and evolving in my eyes. And I’m excited to apply what I learned from this plant to my future garden!

These are the two times I reach for fertilizer in my garden: after my seedlings develop their first true leaves and whenever I notice healthy plants starting to slow down.

Of course, I always check for watering issues or pests first, because fertilizer isn’t the answer to every problem. This simple routine has worked well in my garden!

I genuinely have no idea how this happened.

I planted flower seeds in this pot, never bought pepper seeds this year, and this container has been sitting on my back porch nowhere near my garden, yet here we are.

Was it a mislabeled seed packet? A bird? A squirrel? Nature doing its thing? I’m letting it grow to see what it turns into, but I’d love to hear your theories!!

The vines may be crazy but they’re growing great! My kids can’t wait until they’re ready to pick!
