Schwally was instrumental in establishing the New York presence for the Producers Guild of America, becoming a founding Co-Chair of the PGA East. He is a past Co-Chair of the PGA East Documentary Committee and the PGA Mentoring Committee. In addition, he is an Adjunct Instructor for Communication Arts at the New York Institute of Technology's Manhattan campus.
