For my non-Tongan followers, this is what we call a “Kai pola”. It’s pretty much a Tongan feast reserved for special occasions. All the food and drinks are laid out on tables and you have at it after the pastor finishes prayer. The food at a kai pola usually consist of many different Tongan and non-Tongan dishes but open fire-roasted pig, or Puaka Tunu as we call it, is one of the most common finds at a kai pola. Have you ever been to one?
