Taking a rest in Inkom—the Shield 616 group is based in Colorado Springs, but they organize rides for first responders to raise funds and memorialize the fallen. Today they are riding for Kootenai County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Frank Harwood and Coeur d'Alene Fire Department Battalion Chief John Morrison who were killed in a June ambush. Tomorrow they will wear the patch for Sgt. Lee Sorensen and officer Eric Estrada, both with the Tremonton-Garland Police Department, who were killed last month in Tremonton/Garland. They started the ride in St Anthony, stopped in Blackfoot, then Inkom, and will stop in Malad tonight. Pictured is officer Josh Rhodes with the Rexburg, PD. These guys are headed south to Malad this afternoon!

This week's print copy had a last minute shuffle that means this picture won't be in until next week's Fair coverage. I wanted to make sure to thank everyone at the betting window at the Fairgrounds earlier than that though, so...thank you! These ladies sweated it out through three weekends to make it more fun for everyone, and they really know their business. So thank you to Shawnee, McKenzie, Emily, Connie, Jody, Amber, Danine, Amy, Erica, and Vickie!
