❄️ Love to see some white out on Mammoth Mountain. The last system dropped just over an inch at Main Lodge with 2-3 inches at the Top. Water content was measured at 1.89. ☃️

❄️ A compact low-pressure system and its cold front are moving through the Sierra tonight, setting up Mammoth Mountain for the first real dusting of the season. With 1-3 inches at Main Lodge and 3-6 inches over the top. Confidence is medium at this time. Check the website for the more details... Snowman ☃️

Yahoo Mammoth had the first dusting of the season late on Monday. Most of the hill is shrouded in clouds, so we can’t take any photos right now.

I was able to grab a screenshot of the McCoy Cam about an hour ago, showing some of the snow that fell. Sure was a surprise as I had snow levels well above 11,000 feet. Hopefully, this is a sign of more snow in October. ☃️

Mountain Bike Park Update 7-25-25

Rode the park on Wednesday: My Route was Little Eagle to Main via the Chair 15 service road to Paper Route to Uptown to Main Lodge. I then rode the Gondola to the top and did Off the Top, followed by Gravy Train, Up and Over, Break Through Short Cut, Roma’s Road, and then down Skid Marks to Manzanita, Gopher Trail, Shotgun, Big Ring, Paper Route, Timber Ridge, and Juniper.

That route took me 3 hours, and yes, I was on the Turbo Levo E MTB that I prefer in the Bike Park.

Lifts Open are Gondola 1 and 2, Discovery Chair, and the Village Shuttle to Main Lodge. Chair 2 is also running on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Here is the link to view the current status of open and closed trails.

Trail conditions remain great, but trails continue to dry out, so hopefully we see some rain sooner rather than later. Off the Top does have some washboard on the upper long switchbacks, so be ready for the ripple effect. Skid Marks is open and is a ton of fun right now.

For Mountain Bike rentals, both Footloose Sports and Black Tie Adventure Rentals have some great selections. If you’re coming up from the flatlands, I highly recommend an E-MTB unless you’re just doing downhill laps; then, I recommend getting an enduro bike.

The E-MTB pedal-assist bikes make riding at 8,000-11,000 feet much more enjoyable. There is no throttle, but yes, there is a motor, and the added boost gets rid of the lung-busting punishment you get at high altitude

Resort Report Update for Thursday June 12th, 2025

Summer action will be back in full swing starting this weekend with Gondolla 2 / Scenic Rides and Woolly’s Adventure Park reopening, along with more MTB trails opening for the Summer season.

Chairs 1, 3, and 23 are expected to run through Sunday. Runs open are Cornice Bow, Drop Outs & Wipe Outs with limited access, Climax, Gremlins Gulch, Broadway, Saddle Bowl, Lower Unbound Park, Scooties and Silver Top. Lift hours will be 7:30 AM to 1 PM. G2 will be open for Snow Riders.

The Bike Park is open on the lower Mountain with 8 Cross Country trails: Big Ring (2-way), Gopher Trail, Lakes Trail, Timber Ridge, Juniper Trail, Paper Route, and Uptown. For Downhill Mountain Bike Action: Downtown (Easy), Smooth Operator, and Shut Gun are open for Downhill action. Some other trails might be accaseble but as of now are not open on the open map.

Travel: 395 is open and clear, and Tioga Pass and Sonora Pass are open. All other local roads are open except Reds Meadow Road.

😀Friday, June 6th, 2025 @ 9 AM Good morning, and thanks for checking in with us at MammothSnowman.com. The forecast calls for a chance of isolated thunderstorms right into the weekend.

Chairs 1, 3, and 23 are expected to run unitl closing day set for June 15th. The Gondola will be closed until mid-June for its annual June service. Lift hours have now changed to 7:30 AM to 1 PM.

The Bike Park is open, with the Uptown and Downtown trails leading to the chair 4 parking area. Gopher, Big Ring, Paper Route, Lakes Trail, Timber Ridge, and Juniper are also open. For Downhill action, Smooth Operator and Shut Gun are open. More downhill action should be up and running by the weekend of the 14th.
