Got to spend the day with and his Yamaha Recording Custom kit over the weekend as we tracked drums for a handful of songs being mixed out west. I also got to try out the Snare Mic and OC818 pair on over heads, big thanks to Brett for bringing those in to try out. I'm in love ✨

SPEAKING OF, I take on just drum tracking projects. This is one of many I've done this year. If you have a song/record that you or someone else are producing and you want real drums that sound incredible, get at me.

Good morning/afternoon everyone!

I'm happy to announce that the studio is now equipped with a beautiful Yamaha U1 upright.

Huge thank you to the Dion family for letting me bring this staple of their household to the studio to have a new life with artists ✨

Also a HUGE thank you to Dyson Piano Moving for making the job of getting a piano to the second floor of the building look like the easiest thing in the world.

.mvhc came in yesterday to get started on a fresh track, so we threw together a mix and match kit to get the job done right. ATM23 on the snare drum is becoming my fav. Three mic setup on the kick with the sub kick sounds punishing.

Recently grabbed a Vulture just to kind of try out and see what it works with and it is an absolute keeper for the drum bus. It does something magical with aggressive drums when you drive it hard that standard compression alone won't do. See the last slide to hear what I'm talking about. That and a little bit of room reverb on the snare is perfection.

Thanks for being a total king on the kit 🖤🖤🖤

Happy release week to the album "Paradigm", released yesterday 5/27/25

This album is very special, and was recorded in true rock'n'roll fashion; Big, real drums, loud amps, and a sound that was truly focused on the performance and mix rather than fancy editing and fluff.

This band is one of the hardest working ones out there, and we spared no such work in crafting this high-octane masterpiece together and making sure it was a true representation of their sound. I'm grateful to them for trusting me with this record.

You're not going to find it on streaming services (save for the album titled single) until the summer. I'll pop a link on my story to their Bandcamp page where you can listen and toss them a few bucks. Which you should do.

The first single from the new release is out today and it's called "Freakin me out!"

They threw this one in at the last minute since we had extra time in the drum session for this release and I was instantly hooked on it. Couldn't imagine a world where they just left this one out. It became a contest to see how wild we could make this song without going off the deep end.

I decided that after 6 years it was time to get new monitors, so I decided on a set of S3A's. It's been a week and I'm already making choices on my mixing and tracking processes that translate better outside of here. It's made my life so much easier. Easier on the ears too!

Mixing the record all day today and I'm glad I have these on my side.

Had the crew in over the weekend tracking their next release. has a killer Mapex kit and a fresh Mapex Black Panther snare that sounds punishing with this kit. Decided to throw the new Telefunken up in the center this time around. Really helps open up the snare drum.

Tracked bass with a combo of the classic Sansamp Bass Driver going DI, blended with this Peavey Bassist preamp/power amp rig and re-amped the second guitar layer with this DOD Thrash Master.

Hyped on how this is sounding already!!
