Today protestors in Bedford demonstrated in front of the Whole Foods supermarket at a busy intersection. They chanted “Hey Whole Foods! Black Lives Matter!”
Two Whole Foods workers in Bedford were sent home from work because they were wearing face masks with Black Lives Matter printed on the front. They were told it was a violation of dress code to wear logos, yet Whole Foods allowed workers to wear corporate logos like Nike and p**p emojis.
Whole Foods has a public statement in support of Black Lives Matter, but their actions contradict their words and people are calling them out for their hypocrisy.

“HEY HEY, HO HO, RACIST JOE HAS GOT TO GO!” chanted hundreds of protesters who showed up to an impromptu rally in front of Manchester City Hall calling for Alderman Joe Levasseur to resign for his long history of racist and derogatory language, and intimidation.
Organizers asked attendees to call their alderman and demand they vote to remove him from office.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders spoke at the annual Labor Day Breakfast, hosted by the NH AFL-CIO.
To paraphrase, Bernie said on Labor Day, we celebrate Solidarity. One person cannot take on the multinational corporations. We can't do it alone. We need to stand together. We will not allow Trump to divide us up based on the color of our skin, our religion, our nationality, or sexual orientation. When they divide us up, they win. When we stand together, we win. Let us stand together in the name of solidarity.

A new pathway to recovery from addiction has opened up in NH.
The state's very first trainees to become Acupuncture Detoxification Specialists (ADS) began training last week.
Through a new law in the Granite State, people who work in recovery for substance misuse or mental health can train and certify to practice a simple acupuncture procedure of 5 tiny needles in the outer ear.

In Manchester, trainees attended a conference hosted by NADA - the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, an organization that got it's start in the 1970's.

At the conference, NADA awarded recognition to State Representatives Bob Backus (D) and Peter Hansen (R) who contributed to the passage of the new state law.

Today as 70 Indonesian immigrants check-in at the Immigration Enforcement office (ICE) in Manchester, NH. Meanwhile, around 300 people attended the Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Immigrant Justice. Members of various faith backgrounds led the vigil in prayer, songs, and words of inspiration to end the detention and deportation of people who call New Hampshire their home.
