I MARRIED MY TEACHER - ON OUR WEDDING NIGHT I FELT A LITTLE AWKWARD AND ASKED HIM, "DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK I CAN HANDLE ALL THIS?" - AFTER HE GAVE ME HIS GIFT
When I was in school, everyone adored Alexey Petrovich - a young, energetic teacher who turned history lessons into a real adventure. For me, he was just a kind and supportive teacher, nothing more.
The years passed. I finished school, moved to the city, got a diploma and began to build a career. But city life wore me out, and at twenty-four I returned to my home village, hoping to start all over again.
One morning at the market, I heard a familiar voice:
- Klara? Is that you?
I turned around and saw him. Alexey Petrovich. Only now he was just Alexey, thirty-two years old, with a warm smile and barely noticeable wrinkles around his eyes. Relaxed and open, he had not lost his sincerity.
We started talking like old friends. This chance meeting turned into coffee, then into dinner, then into long walks where we shared dreams: he about teaching, I about my own business. The age difference of seven years turned out to be unimportant. By twenty-five, we had become inseparable.
A year later, we got married in a modest ceremony under an oak tree in my parents' garden. The day was filled with laughter and love. I was sure that this was the best decision of my life.
But that night, when the house was silent, he gave me such a surprise that I was taken aback.
"Do you seriously think that I can handle all this?" I asked uncertainly.
