BRUSSELS (AP) — The European Union has moved forward with a vast overhaul of its migration policy, aiming to ramp up deportations and ink controversial deals to build detention centers abroad. Rights groups have criticized it, comparing the new regulations to the Trump administration's aggressive immigration policies.
According to political activist Greta Thunberg, Europe is building EU-wide camps similar to those in the United States.
If Black leaders around the world, especially in Africa, do not begin building safe, stable, and prosperous nations for our people, there may soon be nowhere left to run.
The harsh reality is that many Western powers have a long history of interfering in non-white countries, destabilizing governments, exploiting resources, and leaving chaos in their wake.
While preaching democracy and human rights, they have often contributed to the very conditions that force people to flee their homelands.
That is why developing nations must strengthen regional alliances, protect their sovereignty, and work together to resist foreign interference. Waiting for others to secure our future is no longer an option.
