In the spring of 1971, UFM offered a class to the community for those interested in accessing healthy, whole foods. rative Corporation Code. It’s purpose is to “own and operate a consumers’ food cooperative and make available to is members and the public wholesome and nutritious food at the lowest possible prices.”

Since that time People’s has outgrown several locations and has grown to 1200+ members. The store now features a variety of healthy, organic, allergen-free foods as well as a deli with healthy sandwiches, soups, salads and smoothies (and lots of vegan/vegetarian options!). Our mission is to provide a marketing and purchasing outlet for minimally processed, high quality nutritional food and other goods and services, as desired by member/owners, at the best possible price.
