That is an ordinary part of democratic politics. Voters are not required to hold the same opinions forever, and changing one's mind can happen because of new information, personal experiences, policy outcomes, or shifting priorities.

Understanding Trump's political influence therefore requires more than focusing on Trump himself. It also means examining the concerns that motivated voters, the role of political parties and media, campaign strategies, and the issues that continue to shape public opinion.

Political accountability is not about demanding that everyone reach the same conclusion. It is about being willing to examine the reasons behind our political choices and consider whether those views still reflect what we believe today.
