5 Lessons I've earned from the first 5 days of my 31 Day content creation challenge

1️⃣ USE the Canva templates when creating thumbnails. Leverage it as a starting point and then customize it for your needs (After all, you're paying for Canva Premium anyway right?)

2️⃣ Take the Thumbnail photo right before or after recording the video, so you don't stress over getting a screenshot

3️⃣ It's okay to reuse the same background music for multiple videos. It's really not that deep!

4️⃣ Experiment with editing styles. You don't need to have it be perfect, just try one new thing in each video

5️⃣ Don't overthink it. There are three sources of Videos: Record a new video, repurpose an old Video, OR Finally edit one of the 1000 videos you have already recorded.

A broken plugin cost me $$$$$

A few days ago I went through our CRM to make some changes and streamline a few processes. That's when I noticed over 10 unanswered messages on our Chatbot.

Some were spam but most were actual leads interested in services.
A couple of months ago a few plugins were updated. While I didn't think much of it, these updates broke the automation that was previously set up to notify my team when someone messaged the chatbot.

Some leads scheduled a consultation, while others got frustrated with the lack of chat response.

One message said, "And once again, you guys have not responded to me this is pitiful."

This person messaged multiple times and got ZERO responses.
I'm sharing this because my business isn't the first or last company that will experience loss of sales and clients due to plugin updates, automation disconnection, or other tech hiccups.

What did I do about this?

I created a monthly recurring calendar invite to review all CRM plugins and tools for updates and to ensure everything is working.

I emailed the leads with a short message stating that our chatbot was broken and that if they still wanted to work with us we could set up a consultation.
I'm sharing this with others. No person or company is perfect so let's learn from each other's mistakes.

I am disappointed that this happened and I have no idea how many deals I missed out on because of it. Don't cry over spilled milk. I learned my lesson and put a system in place to prevent this from happening again, now it's back to business.
