Celebrating the women who make the Archery community stronger. 🏹

Today I’m highlighting leaders, creators, and those who have been forging their way. They are the voices of the sport from in front of the camera, behind a mic, or on the Line.

Who would you add to this list?

02/20/2026

They say that Archery is 90% mental, but if your equipment is working against you, those numbers don’t add up.

In an upcoming episode of the Archery Parent Podcast, I am sitting down with Douglas Denton of RamRods Archery. We are talking all things Archery.

Now is your chance to get an answer from one of the top engineering minds in the sport.

What’s that one question that’s been bugging you?

âś… Stabilization in the wind?
âś… Knowing when to upgrade gear?
âś… What is the best entry-level stabilizer set?
âś… Anything about your Recurve bow?

Drop your questions below, DM us, or email us archeryparentpodcast[at]gmail.com.

From the first time Reece and I stepped into the world of the Lancaster Classic, back in 2016, we knew it was something special. This year was no different.

But, don’t just take my word for it. Even Archers on the floor are calling the Classic “the place to be”.

If the Classic is on your own or your Archer’s Bucket List, this episode is for you.

Was 2026 your first trip to the Line at Spooky Nook? Let me know in the Comments.

The Verdict is in: The Lancaster Classic is the New Home of the Barebow and Longbow Elite (but it doesn’t mean all skill levels cannot join in and be part of the action).

Over the years, there has been a definite shift among these two communities. They have moved past the “fringe” and into the spotlight. The OGs are no longer just figuring it all out on their own. They are marking the path and passing down knowledge to the new generation and those making a name for themselves.

After speaking with three Barebow Archers, one of whom is a Classic Barebow Champion, the consensus is clear: “Lancaster is the place to be.”

It’s more than just score cards. It’s being part of a growing community, the camaraderie, and the chance to test yourself against the best. But, it’s also a place to learn, join in, and share.

It’s not just for bragging rights, anymore. The numbers and industry support are proving it:

🏹 Between the two categories, 467 Archers registered for the Classic.

🏹 There was a $1000 impromptu bonus for any Barebow score of 600 in Qualification.

🏹 The 2026 Barebow (Men’s) Champion took home $8000. The Women’s Champion took $4000. The Longbow Champ earned $1500.

🏹 The surge of manufacturers like Hoyt, Gillo, and CD Archery introducing Barebow-specific products is changing the game. It’s a new era.

🏹 Archery pro shops are also seeing an increase in Barebow requests and orders.

The bar has been raised and the community has come forward to embrace it. The Lancaster Classic is making space for it all. It is very special.

Thanks to .ray.604, Chris Garcia, and Nolan Encarnacion.

“Archery is definitely a very ground-up sport. When we do a lot of technique, we talk a lot about the base that you work from.”

These words from my son Reece, changed how I think about Archery equipment priorities.

As Archery Parents, we spend so much money for bows, sights, and stabilizers. But how often do we consider the literal foundation of every shot?

In our latest podcast episode, Reece breaks down why footwear matters, when it becomes a priority in an Archer’s development, and which specific shoes elite Archers worldwide actually use.

Key insights from our conversation:

👟 Low-drop shoes (2mm or less) provide better stability than raised-heel running shoes

👟 Wide toe boxes allow for natural weight distribution and balance awareness

👟 Dedicated Archery shoes kept separate from daily wear ensure consistency

👟 The shoe investment becomes more important as body awareness develops

👟 Budget guidance: $100-150 CAD gets you a quality option that will last

Whether you are a parent supporting an Archer or an adult getting into the sport, understanding the ground-up approach to Archery technique starts with what is on your feet.
