Christopher Moore's "The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove" is delightfully weird, completely ridiculous, and totally laugh-out-loud funny.

If psychological thrillers had an official beer, we think it might be Upper Hand IPA.

At first glance, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides seems straightforward enough. A woman is accused of murdering her husband and then never speaks another word.

Simple, right?

Not even close.

Much like a good IPA, this story hits differently than you expect. What begins with familiar notes quickly develops into something more complex, more layered, and far more memorable than you saw coming.

Then comes the ending you weren't prepared for.

The kind that makes you sit quietly for a minute staring at the wall wondering how you missed it.

If we were spending an evening unraveling The Silent Patient, we'd absolutely have a Upper Hand IPA beside us.

Some stories deserve to be savored slowly.

Kristin Hannah's The Nightingale spans years of courage, sacrifice, heartbreak, and resilience during World War II.

Upper Hand's SISU STOUT follows a similar philosophy. Rich, patient, and worth waiting for, this stout develops character over a long Michigan winter to develop it's flavor before it reaches your glass.

Together they create the kind of reading experience that begs for a rainy afternoon, a comfortable chair, and nowhere else to be.
