At approximately 9:50 p.m. last night, a State Patrol trooper spotted a red Chevrolet Impala with California license plates driving through a ditch near State Highway 30 and 830th Avenue near Lewisville. When the trooper attempted to make contact, the female driver locked herself in the vehicle, refused to comply, and made several attempts to drive out of the ditch. She identified herself as "Samantha" and said she was trying to reach Iowa.

The trooper reported that the driver then fled, prompting a pursuit. The vehicle reached speeds of 80–90 mph with its lights off. Police lost sight of the vehicle, then re-located it on 250th Avenue, where it nearly struck a trooper and collided with squad cars. The pursuit resumed as the vehicle headed east on 240th Street at speeds exceeding 100 mph before officers lost it again.

The driver had reportedly been stopped earlier that day by New Ulm Police and told officers she was terrified of law enforcement because of an incident in Iowa. Dispatch later identified her as "Courtney," after her drivers license was ran and was out of Wisconsin.

State Patrol deployed a plane and drones to search for the suspect but were unable to locate her. The vehicle was last seen near 499th Avenue and 111th Street, just east of Amboy, where authorities believe she abandoned the car at a farm site and fled on foot. Law enforcement believed she may of been hiding at a nearby farm property.

At this time, we believe the female has still not been located.
