Beware the moose. Based on past experience a wild moose is not a creature to mess with and we apparently have one in this area. Remember when Roger Furse, of the Red Cloud Chief Newspaper tried to take a picdture of one in Webster County. Wanted the moose to look at him and tossed a beer can toward the moose. The moose charged and Roger ran for his life. The following story from the Courtland area was distiruted by Fox 4 Television ouet of Kansas City on Thursday:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — You don’t see this every day! A moose was spotted wandering through a cornfield in North Central Kansas Wednesday evening.
Caleb Mahin of Courtland, Kansas, captured rare photos and a video of the animal just before dusk.

Mahin said several locals spotted the moose earlier in the day near Courtland.
“Yesterday morning around 8 a.m. Clay Wallin and Bret Carlgren saw it cross the highway south of Courtland, and it ran into Mark and Doug Garman’s standing corn field,” Mahin said.

“Just before dark, around 6:45 last night, I jumped in my pickup with Warren, 5, Sloan, 2, and Mabel, almost 6 months old.”
That’s when luck struck for the Mahin Family. They went to the area where the moose had been seen earlier in the day, and sure enough, there it was.

Mahin said the moose ran out of the cornfield and into a soy bean field. He said the nearby cattle did not know what to think of the moose
