AWESOME NEWS: A McDonald's near Tampa threw a big retirement party for a longtime employee. 56-year-old Rich Wilber has Down syndrome, and he'd worked at the location in St. Petersburg for 34 years. His manager who helped throw the party is 32 and wasn't even born when he showed up for his first shift.

ST. PETERSBURG — This was a special day but a work day nonetheless, so Rich Wilber did the same thing he did after every shift. He ate chicken nuggets and sipped a strawberry smoothie. AWESOME NEWS: A teenager in Boca Raton, Florida is being hailed a hero after helping multiple people who got caught in a flash flood last month. 18-year-old Thomas Ruzzano went from car to car making sure everyone was okay.
A few people he helped then pitched in to help him save an elderly guy who couldn't get his seatbelt off. The water was up to his shoulders by the time they got him out.

Thomas Ruzzano, 18, was hailed as a hero after helping to save several people caught in a flash flood in Boca Raton, Fla. on Sunday, Nov. 2. The teen opened up about the experience, recalling saving an elderly man who was stuck in his seatbelt.

My girlfriends and I were out to lunch recently when we got into it about whether women should dye their hair after they start turning gray. Some of my friends say dyeing your hair looks ridiculous and like we're trying to hang on to our youth so I should embrace the gray. Personally, I dye my hair because who wants to look old? AWESOME NEWS: A 93-year-old guy in L.A. named Norm Feigenbaum got his dog back almost two weeks after she went missing, and all thanks to some dirty socks. Someone spotted her at a nature preserve a mile away, so volunteers set up a humane trap to catch her. She loves Norm's dirty socks, so they made a trail of them leading to the cage. She wandered in about 30 minutes later.

Linus from the "Peanuts" comic strip was named after Charles Schulz's classmate Linus Maurer. That Linus may not have had a security blanket . . . but he was the first person to see a sketch of the character.

Charles and Linus remained close friends until Charles' death in 2000. They usually met for coffee at Snoopy's Home Ice skating rink in Santa Rosa, California.
