Does the new salary threshold affect your visa plan?

πŸ…°οΈ Yes, I am now under the line

πŸ…±οΈ No, I still qualify

🚨 Settlement in the UK could just get 5 years harder.

New reports confirm the Home Office is pushing to extend the ILR qualifying period from 5 years to 10 years for most visa routes. If confirmed in 2026, thousands already on the path to settlement could be forced to start over.

: If ILR moves to 10 years, what would you do?

πŸ…°οΈ Push through and wait it out

πŸ…±οΈ Look at other countries instead

πŸ”₯ A major Skilled Independent visa update just dropped and it could affect your PR chances this month.

The Department of Home Affairs confirmed the next subclass 189 invitation round will happen by 30 September.

Meanwhile, graduate visa holders have surged 170 percent since 2021 to over 271,000, putting real pressure on the entire reform agenda.

The employer sponsored income threshold has also risen to 73,150 dollars, making sponsorship harder to secure.

If your EOI is not accurate and updated now, you could miss this round completely.

Citizenship certificate wait times jumped from 25 to 33 months in a single month, with over 136,000 people now waiting.

Caregiver PR has climbed to 76 months and spousal sponsorship now sits at 26 months.

Study permit proof of funds is also rising past 23,000 dollars for single applicants.

If you already applied or are about to, this changes everything about your timeline.

🚨 The Home Office just rewrote the rules again and most applicants have no idea yet.

On 3 September, HC 584 changed the Skilled Worker, Student, EU Settlement Scheme, Visitor, Long Residence and Hong Kong BNO routes in one go.

Some changes apply from 8 October, so timing your application now could decide your outcome.

This is on top of ILR already stretching to 10 years and English requirements rising to B2.

If you are applying soon, this is not something to ignore.
