Mitch “Skid Mark” Hammond – ENPWI’s 20th Pilot
Eagles Nest Projects Wisconsin is proud to celebrate another major milestone — welcoming our 20th pilot into the ENPWI family. Mitch Hammond, better known by his callsign “Skid Mark,” recently completed his flight test with near perfection. His skill and precision in the cockpit were on full display as he executed a flawless short-field landing that earned him the approving remark, “that was pretty good,” right on the mark — reconfirming his nickname.
Mitch’s performance in the air was matched by his poise and knowledge during the oral exam, where he demonstrated confidence, professionalism, and technical understanding beyond his years. His achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and passion that ENPWI strives to inspire in every student aviator.
Outside the cockpit, Mitch continues to soar. A high-achieving student at Westosha Central High School, he maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA while serving as President of the Eagles Nest Projects Wisconsin STEM Aviation Program. In this leadership role, he has been instrumental in promoting aviation education, mentoring peers, and leading by example.
Mitch’s talents extend into entrepreneurship as well — he co-owns and operates Weedless Waters, a small business that showcases his initiative, problem-solving ability, and strong work ethic.
Earlier this year, Mitch earned state-level recognition by placing second in the Wisconsin SkillsUSA Aviation Maintenance competition — the first time his school had ever achieved a podium at the state level. His well-rounded excellence across academics, leadership, business, and aviation makes him not just an outstanding student, but a true ambassador for the next generation of aviators.
Congratulations to Mitch “Skid Mark” Hammond — ENPWI’s 20th pilot — a remarkable young man whose dedication and achievements embody the very spirit of Eagles Nest Projects Wisconsin.
