The Sanpete County Sheriffs’ Office has received several calls reporting someone to be a member of the Sheriff’s Office, and claiming the person has outstanding felony warrants or subpeonas. This SCAM has been used to collect personal information and to have the person make payments on the warrants. The Sheriff’s Office will never call demanding payment for bail or collect personal information regarding financial information over the phone. Please do NOT give out personal information such as social security or bank account numbers to anyone.
The Utah Department of Public Safety has a Warrant Look-up Page for inquiries about outstanding warrants you may have. If you find that you have an outstanding warrant contact the COURT directly to address the warrant. https://secure.utah.gov/warrants/index.html
