Dear readers,

dispersed holdings is thrilled to announce the June 2025 publication of Gyms by Kyle Booten.

Gyms is at once a book of poems and an experimental lab notebook which records the results of nine computational “gyms,” each intended to challenge and strengthen a particular aspect of the writing subject’s poetic musculature. Humorous, searching, and inventive, Gyms is a speculative and idiosyncratic investigation into the future of poetic form.

We are honored and excited to bring this remarkable, ground-breaking collection to you.

We shared our first (pre-release) copies of Gyms at Printed Matter’s Los Angeles Art Book Fair last weekend, and we think it fair to say that readers were pumped. Now we’re happy to report that you can pre-order Gyms from our new distributor, Asterism Books.

Reviewers and teachers (especially those considering how to contend with AI in the classroom): please reach out for a free-trial copy of Gyms. All readers: stay tuned here for more info about the book, including upcoming launch events.
