Easter can be a difficult time for folks like me with service dogs.

Service dogs are a concept that the general public is still getting used to. So on awesome family oriented holidays, many people who have service dogs are put into odd situations because not everyone understands that if you are invited to a Holiday Dinner your service dog not being invited feels odd.. again this is not a pet (which many people think to..its a service dog..something that helps many of us get through the day. many of us feel like we are imposing on someone who is inviting us over for the holiday as they may not want a dog , even a service animal in their house.
Quite frankly although we are by law able to bring our service animals everywhere . I believe people having a family dinner should be able to choose whether a dog comes into their house as well.
So this puts folks like me into an odd situation. I go everywhere with my service dog. So when you invite me to a holiday dinner and ask me to leave my service dog at home or tie them up in the backyard, your asking me to not only put aside something that helps me with my anxiety but also putting the dog in an odd situation as he is not used to being separated from me. Further my little pup is my ride or die, I go through good and bad times with him by my side, celebrating family without him does not feel right because although some folks may not understand it , he is my family.
So please consider these things when planning your holiday dinners. If you are not comfortable having a dog in your house that's your right and I respect that, however understand as well that if your invite is turned down it is not out of spite, its because of a different situation that hopefully you have a better understanding of now.If possible lets try to normalize Service dogs more in society, they make a big difference, mines changed my life.

A "joke" is supposed to be funny, calling the home to Americans and one of the most beautiful cultures in the world an "island of garbage" is not. There is no humor there, just fame chasing.
To my Puerto Rican brothers and sisters please keep being as beautiful and amazing as you are.

They say it takes a village...
Over the next few weeks Ill be doing a lot of things in a short amount of time ... a Rucking March and Motorcycle ride in memory of Veterans no longer with us... Free food distribution for Veterans.. bringing a few dozen Veterans to a NY Jets game.... a Move night field trip for Veterans.. Djing, public speaking and shooting a short horror film.
Its a lot and I am so blessed to have the support of many who can help make these things happen.
To everyone who helps to make so many of these awesome things happen. We are helping people and making the world just a little bit better. God bless you all.

3 of the best people Ive ever met at the Newark Standdown Michael, sharon and David help hundreds of Veterans a year.. Speaking of the Newark Standdown ... Salute to David J Pearson and AJ Luna and Emerson Crooks on a job well done on helping our Veterans. More than 300 Veterans received services, resources and hope. Kudos and Respect!

Tomorrow afternoon a few of us veterans are very excited to be going on a field trip to see the new terrifier 3 movie in Bergen county. It's a heartwarming family film about a friendly clown named Art who goes on an adventure to find Santa and the true meaning of Christmas. It's a new film that im sure will become a new holiday classic.

If you are a veteran who would like to join us . Let me know . We are also doing a veterans field trip to see it in union county next week .

PS all jokes aside the creators of this film are amazing people who very often support our veterans organization.
