Can you say road trip? Took a little road trip down to South Texas, down south of Corpus Christi. To a little hole in the wall that has fantastic seafood. If you don’t know where it is, you probably can’t find it. They do absolutely no advertising, and yet the place is packed all the time. This place has been open since the 1930s.

I love the sign just outside the door. It was placed there by the woman who started the restaurant. And the story goes that you did not wear a hat inside the restaurant. If you couldn’t take off your hat, you didn’t eat. This came from a time when men knew their manners.

The food is unbelievably good. But the service is even better. Joe was my server and he made sure that I didn’t want for anything. Fast and friendly he was on the ball. He has worked there since 1998. A big shout out to the staff and the management of this establishment.
