Marengo will again welcome thousands of bicyclists during RAGBRAI in July!

Yay! We can officially announce Marengo will be a Meeting Town for RAGBRAI on Friday, July 28th, 2023. Marengo Community Development will be organizing all of the businesses and organizations that want to participate in this event. Route through Marengo details and sign-up information will be available very soon.

Due to the forecasted weather, Iowa Valley Community School District will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, 12/22).

Classes will resume as scheduled on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Santa and his Merry Friends will be coming to Marengo!!

Friends of Marengo will be being hosted by The Back Porch Flowers, Sips, and Gifts from Noon to 3pm! Come in see Santa and support a local business. Santa will be on site for photo ops as well as to hand out gifts.

Super excited to announce that the new restaurant at 1041 Court Ave will be named Lizzie's Dining Car & Caboose Bar. Elizabeth Colony and her mother, Karen Bok, will run the restaurant. The plans are to make it feel like you are dining inside a train dining car with the addition of the caboose bar in the back. They have a date set for March 1st, 2023, for their opening day. They will be serving home-style cooking with breakfast options along with great specials. They will be open for Jingle Around the Square and will be doing mini pot pies(pictured) for a free will donation, and the proceeds will go to the Marengo Pool Fund. They also plan on having a float in the Christmas Parade. Please stop by and enjoy some pot pies, meet Liz and Karen, and let them tell you about their plans for the future. GO Marengo!
