One of the most despicable and disgraceful acts within our industry was recently committed by five individuals: Tony Gioe, Denise Chatman, Jay Negron, Bacho Mangual, and Richy Condina. These individuals—who are, regrettably, part of the very community we’ve all worked so hard to build—chose to create a podcast centered around defaming my character and attacking me personally: Luis Mario O. Rizzo, Founder and CEO of the Legends of Vinyl™ Music Hall of Fame.
This was not just a petty disagreement—it was an act rooted in malice, cowardice, and utter disrespect. Such behavior has no place in our industry. No matter how deeply one may disagree with another’s vision or leadership, there is a dignified way to handle those differences: agree to disagree and move on with your life.
I have never given these individuals my time or energy because, truthfully, they are not significant enough to warrant it. However, I must speak up—not for my own sake, but for the integrity of the Legends of Vinyl™ and the community we represent. Their actions have not gone unnoticed. In fact, many of our members, supporters, and friends have expressed outrage and disgust at their blatant attempt to tarnish what we’ve built with love, passion, and dedication.
Let it be clear: I will continue to stand strong, focused on honoring our legacy and preserving the rich culture of Dance Music. No smear campaign will ever derail the purpose and mission of the Legends of Vinyl™. Truth, integrity, and history will always prevail.
