At The Sasquatch Museum in the little mountain town of Blue Ridge, Georgia...you’ll step into the country’s largest permanent Bigfoot display, packed with casts of giant footprints, handprints, and even a plaster rear-end-print said to be left by the creature. At "Expedition:Bigfoot!", life-size dioramas put you face to face with towering Sasquatch figures, while listening stations play eerie recordings of alleged Bigfoot calls from the wild. Maps track sightings across the U.S., and the collection includes rare hair samples, sketches, and the world’s only Bigfoot research vehicle. With over 4,000 square feet of exhibits, it’s part roadside attraction and part research center...but is totally worth a stop whether you believe or not!

The Forgotten Ghost Town of Elkmont 🌫️

Hidden beneath the mist of the Great Smoky Mountains lies Elkmont, Tennessee—a town frozen in time, where sagging cabins and moss-covered chimneys tell tales of timber, wealth, and abandonment.

Founded in the 1840s as “Little River,” Elkmont blossomed into a booming logging town by the early 20th century, thanks to the Little River Lumber Company. But when the forests were nearly cleared, Elkmont transformed—becoming an elite mountain retreat, home to the Appalachian Club and the storied Wonderland Hotel.

That golden era ended in 1934, when the formation of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park forced residents to choose: leave now for full payment or stay under lifetime leases. By the 1990s, those leases expired, and Elkmont slipped into silence.

Today, hikers encounter a spectral village—rotting porches, forest-swallowed paths, and the Elkmont Troll Bridge, a mossy relic tucked in the woods. Some cabins are being restored, but many remain in slow collapse, wrapped in vines and memory.

Elkmont is not just a ghost town—it is a living relic. A reminder of human ambition, nature’s resilience, and the bittersweet passage of time.
