We might think to ourselves, "If God really knew me, He wouldn't like me." Yet the Good Shepherd knows everything about us, including the parts we hid from others and ourselves...He still loves us unconditionally and unreservedly.

His knowledge doesn't diminish His love but contextualizes it, making it all the more remarkable.

This is the heart of the gospel: not that we must make ourselves worthy of being known, but that we are already known and loved.

And in His perfect knowledge and unwaveringly love, we find our identity, our deepest security, and our greatest joy.

When your feelings tell you you’re not enough, the cross tells you that you are chosen, pursued, and deeply known.

Your worth is fixed.
Your identity is secure.
You don’t have to prove yourself or earn love that’s already been given.

And when you struggle to believe that, you can come back to the truth: Jesus’ sacrifice makes you worthy — not because you deserve it, but because He loves you without conditions.

Jonah was supposed to have drowned in the sea as a sacrifice to stop the storm, but instead was swallowed by a fish. 🐟

And it was during his three days in the belly of a whale where he surrendered and God gave Him a second chance.

God's mercy often meets us in unexpected places. What looked like Jonah's doom was actually his rescue.

YOU WERE MADE FOR COMMUNITY // Isolation is one of Satan's favorite tools to use against us. If he can get you to hide from God or other believers, he can keep you from being who God has made you to be – chosen, adopted, redeemed, and empowered.

It's why he often whispers to us:
🗣️ "No one would understand what you're going through."
🗣️ "God could never use someone like you."
🗣️ "If people knew the real you, they would reject you."

The more he can isoloate you, the more he can keep you trapped in sin, causing more destruction in your life.

It was one of the tactics he used on Adam and Eve after leading them to sin. They were made to live free, unashamed, and wholly dependant on God, but their sin made them hide from each other (covering themselves in fig leaves) and God.

But God calls us into community and light. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us to meet together, build one another up, and not give up on fellowship. When we bring struggles into the open before God and trusted believers, Satan loses his foothold.

Don't let him convince you to hide.
Don't buy into his deception that you don't need other believers in your life.
If you're feeling the temptation to isolate or hide, that's a sign you need to reach out to God in prayer to confess your fear and shame, and turn to a trusted friend for biblical encouragement.

Remember, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Only love, grace, and redemption.

If guilt is eating you alive, don't let it push you further away from God. Instead, acknowledge that you are in desperate need of a Savior.

Because you are in fact guilty. And there's nothing you can do to change that.

But Jesus can.

You might be guilty of the crime, but you don't have to serve out your eternal punishment. Jesus took your place on the cross. Your debt has already been covered.

All you have to do is accept the payment.

In a strange way, guilt is a gift. It's a reminder of just how much we depend on Jesus. Because of His sacrifice, we are no longer prisoners, bound by sin.

We are a free people walking in the liberty of God.

🤯This parallel will blow your mind! The story of David and Goliath is more than an inspiring story about a brave boy –– it forshadows our victory through Jesus Christ. Think about it:

David faught. Isreal won.
Jesus died. We live.

The men of Israel had been in the camp the entire time too afraid to go near the valley. Not one of them raised a weapon against Goliath. Not one of them took a single step towards the giant. Yet when David cast his stone, when Goliath fell and the Philistines fled, Israel gets the credit for the victory.

This is the doctrine of imputed rightousness in narrative form.

When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave, He did not win a private victory. He won a representative victory –– as the Champion of all who are in Him, His defeat of sin and death is credited to every person who trusts in Him.

We do not each have to fight our own Goliath.
We do not have to defeat our own sin, our own death, our own enemy.
Our Champion has done it, and His victory is ours.

Paul does not say "Thanks be to God who helps us achieve victory" in 1 Corinthians 15:57. He writes "Thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

This changes everything about how we understand the Christian life: We do not fight for victory; we fight from victory.

Stop battling sin through will-power. Quit fighting spiritual. warfare by your own authority.
Stand in the victory that has already been decisively won, and learn to live in the reality of what our Champion has accomplished.
