Your mother didn’t just give you life she gave you her silence. She carried the weight of her own scars so you wouldn’t grow up feeling the heaviness of hers. What you see today is strength, resilience, and devotion, but behind it are chapters she folded shut, wounds she never spoke of, and sacrifices you may never fully know.

When you look into her eyes, you’re not only seeing a mother. You’re seeing the child she once was, the girl who had dreams, fears, and heartbreaks long before she ever held you in her arms. You’re seeing the young woman who fought her own battles in a world that wasn’t always kind to her. And still, despite it all, she chose love. She chose to keep giving, even when no one gave to her.

The way you treat her today doesn’t just honor her — it heals her. Every kind word, every patient moment, every time you sit and listen, you’re giving her back pieces of herself that life tried to take away. You’re reminding her that all those silent sacrifices weren’t in vain.

One day, you’ll realize that she wasn’t just teaching you how to live — she was showing you how to love, even when love wasn’t easy. She was showing you how to endure, even when life was unfair. She was showing you what it means to give without expecting anything in return.

So treasure her, not just because she is your mother, but because she is proof of what unconditional love looks like in human form. Her story deserves your respect, your gentleness, and your gratitude. Because in the end, when the world forgets you, when people leave, when life becomes heavy — you’ll remember her love was the only thing that never gave up on you.

This week, the cross outside our church fell. Not because of a storm, not because someone hit it—but because the wood at the foundation had slowly rotted away. On the surface, it still looked like a strong symbol of faith. But underneath, it was decaying—and eventually, that hidden weakness brought it down.

That’s a picture of cultural Christianity. It can look like faith on the outside—crosses on walls, verses in bios, occasional church attendance—but underneath, there's no living relationship with Jesus. No root in Scripture. No repentance. No transformation. And just like that cross, when pressure comes, it doesn’t stand.
Jesus warned us about this. In Matthew 7, He said that many will say, ‘Lord, Lord,’ but He will reply, ‘I never knew you.’ That’s not about how we look—it’s about who we truly are. We’re not called to have the appearance of the cross. We’re called to live under its power.

This fallen cross is more than a maintenance issue—it’s a wake-up call. Let’s not be content with the appearance of faith. Let’s dig deep and ask:
* Am I rooted in Christ, or just familiar with Christian culture?
* Is my relationship with Jesus active, or just assumed?
* Am I being shaped by Scripture, or just surrounded by it?
This week, take time to ‘check the foundation.’ Spend unhurried time in the Word. Pray honestly. Ask the Holy Spirit to expose any areas where things may be rotting beneath the surface. And if you’re not sure where to start, reach out. You're not alone—and the cross still stands, not because we hold it up, but because Christ has overcome.

Jesus called it...

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
John 16:33

We live in a messed up world, and the King of Kings has no problem naming the devil as the culprit of the earth’s darkness. However, this one who rules this planet 1 John 5:19, the one who would kill, rob, and destroy, is no match for the One who came to give life abundantly. He is our Peace. He is...the Light of the World.

We need to start – if we haven’t already – to take our stand on our knees. Let’s pray for those who don’t know Jesus yet. Let’s be praying for nations. And let’s be praying for the power of God’s Word and the miraculous in the Holy Spirit to be multiplied so that many might come to faith. And, if we haven’t done it yet, let’s get serious about our own walk with the Lord.

One thing is for sure. In the midst of overwhelming darkness, His Light shines brighter still.
