I want to share this message from my wife from Superior Woman's sister magazine Blue Water Woman to remind our readers that this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Every October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is promoted, encouraging women to do self-breast exams on a regular basis and to get a mammogram annually. Today, I'm begging all Blue Water Woman readers to do so. Listen to your bodies. You know when something is just not right. Follow up with your physician. I'd like to dedicate this Breast Cancer Awareness post to the memory of Carrie Kerbrat, a 37-year-old St. Clair resident who lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this week. Carrie was a part of the Blue Water Woman family, having served, with her daughter, Macey, and her mom, Patty Shine, on the cover of the 2013 issue, which was about motherhood. Carrie loved being a wife and mom (Carrie and her husband, Kevin, later added a son, Brady, to their family), and she loved life. Please, on this first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, schedule your mammogram. Do a self-breast examination, no matter how old or young you are. We need all of you here with us. Please do it in honor of our friend, Christmas Carrie. xoxo
