Little League Update No. 3

The LaCoMo East 9U baseball all-stars staved off elimination for a second time by hammering Twin City 13-2 in a loser’s bracket game Sunday in Columbia.
Now, LaCoMo East will need to defeat unbeaten Webb City two straight times Monday night. The teams meet at 5 p.m., and if LaCoMo East beats Webb City, then the two teams will play a winner-take-all game about 20 minutes following that game’s conclusion. Webb City needs to win only once.
Webb City edged LaCoMo East 5-2 in the first round of the four-team, double-elimination event on Friday.

The LaCoMo East 11U all-star baseball team came up short in its bid for a State Championship.
LaCoMo East edged Springfield 4-3 in an elimination game Sunday morning. But Daniel Boone finished off its perfect run through the four-team, double-elimination bracket by blanking LaCoMo East 13-0 and winning the title in Joplin.
LaCoMo East finished the post-season- including a perfect 3-0 to win the District 1 crown - with a 5-2 record.

Update No. 2 on the 9U Little League State Baseball Tournament at Daniel Boone Little League Ball Park in Columbia.

After the 9U LaCoMo East all-stars dropped their first game in the state tournament to Webb City (District 2) by a 5-2 count Friday, they rebounded to outscore Daniel Boone (District 4) 13-9 in an elimination game Saturday.

LaCoMo East plays another elimination game versus Twin City at 10 a.m. Sunday. The winner stays alive and will play again at 5 p.m. Monday. The loser is out of the tournament.

LITTLE LEAGUE UPDATE:

The 9U and 11U LaCoMo East Little League all-star baseball teams have begun play in their respective state tournaments.

The 11U all-stars have won one and lost one thus far in their four-team, double-elimination event on Sunny Jim Field in Joplin.

LaCoMo East, the District 1 winner, lost its opener 4-2 to the Daniel Boone all-stars, the District 4 champion, Friday night.

Saturday morning, LaCoMo East pounded out a 19-3 four-inning win over Hillsboro, the District 3 winner, in an elimination game. Hillsboro is out of the tournament.

LaCoMo East plays the loser of Springfield (District 2) and Daniel Boone in another elimination game at 10 a.m. Sunday.
