Today, I want to share with you a powerful story of hope and redemption. It is the story of an actress named Christina, who survived a harrowing experience with s*x trafficking and now uses her platform to empower others.
It reminds me of a story from Exodus, we read about the Hebrew people who were enslaved in Egypt. Just as Christina found the courage to escape her captors, Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt to freedom. Through God's grace and strength, they were able to overcome their oppressors and find a new life of freedom.
Christina was just a young girl when she was targeted by a s*x trafficker. She was lured in with promises of fame and fortune, but soon found herself trapped and abused. Despite the horrors she faced, Christina refused to give up. She prayed for strength and courage, and eventually was able to escape her captors.
In the book of Psalms, we find comfort in the Lord's protection: "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart" (Psalm 91:4). Christina found refuge and strength in her faith, and we too can find comfort in the Lord's protection.
In another verse from Psalms, we are reminded of the power of prayer: "I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies" (Psalm 18:3). We should never underestimate the power of prayer, especially in times of hardship and struggle.
After her escape, Christina decided to use her experiences to help others who had faced similar situations. She founded an organization called "The End It Movement," which seeks to bring awareness to s*x trafficking and provide support for survivors. Through her work, Christina has helped countless others find healing and hope.
I want to share with you a verse from Isaiah. We are reminded to help those in need: "If you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday" (Isaiah 58:10). Christina's work is an example of how we can shine a light in the darkness and help those who are oppressed.
In the Old Testament, we find the story of Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers. Despite being betrayed by his own family, Joseph did not give up hope. He trusted in God and eventually rose to a position of power, where he was able to save his family and many others from famine. Joseph's story reminds us that even in our darkest moments, God has a plan for us.
In conclusion, let us remember the power of prayer, the importance of helping those in need, and the possibility of redemption. Let us follow the example of Christina, who has turned her painful experiences into a way to help others. May God bless us all with strength, courage, and compassion. Amen.

On Tuesday, Eric Holder, the killer of rapper Nipsey Hussle, was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison. Holder had pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder charges in April 2021.

The Bible teaches us about the value of human life and the consequences of taking another person's life. Exodus 20:13 says, "You shall not murder," and Matthew 5:21-22 warns, "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.' But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council.

As we reflect on this tragedy, we are reminded of the story of Cain and Abel in the book of Genesis. Cain, out of jealousy and anger, killed his brother Abel, and when God asked him where Abel was, Cain replied, "Am I my brother's keeper?" (Genesis 4:9). We must remember that we are all brothers and sisters in the eyes of God, and we must look out for one another and support one another in times of need.

Let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44, "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." May we all strive to show love and compassion, even in the face of hatred and violence.

While we pray for justice to be served in cases like Eric Holder's, we also pray for the families and loved ones of those affected by the crime. And we remember that, ultimately, it is up to God to judge each of us according to our actions and hearts.
