This week, Michael and Brent welcome the 2023 IACP 40 Under 40 recipient, Myles Cook, to the show.
Myles Cook is the current Training Coordinator at the Walters State Community College Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy in Greenville, Tennessee.
Cook started his law enforcement career in 2012 at the Carter County Sheriff's Office in Elizabethton, Tennessee where he served as a Patrol Lieutenant (Watch Commander). He worked in various positions including, Patrol, Corrections, Narcotics Investigations, SWAT, Federal Task Force Officer Federal Bureau of Investigation & United States Marshal Service Task Force.
Starting in 2016, Myles also served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve as a squad leader for six years.
In 2019, Cook became the director/lead instructor for law enforcement and corrections at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology where he developed and taught a training program that has been recognized for its effective merits and was implemented at multiple Tennessee technical and community colleges in 2022.
He now finds himself as the training coordinator at Walters State where he redesigned the physical training program and transformed the fi****ms training model, leading to measurable improved outcomes for graduating cadets.
