WINTER STORM CONDITIONS EXPECTED OVER THE EASTERN PANHANDLE AND ADJACENT AREAS LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT.....

Expect snow covered roads and slippery travel by sunrise on Monday and lasting throughout the day. Accumulation estimates have been inconsistent over the last couple of days, but seem to be settling in on a general 8" total coverage for most of us, with a few pockets of 10-12" possible.

Snow is expected to begin at a lighter pace after midnight Sunday night. As of now, the heaviest snowfall rates look to be from just before sunrise Monday morning through early afternoon. Lighter snow persists into the evening and ends as a few snow showers.

Updates on any changes to this outlook will follow here through the weekend (which will be nice and sunny but pretty cold). A little time spent this weekend getting winter-ready will make the week ahead less stressful.

It stays quite cold for the rest of the week as well, so little melting of snow but it also stays pretty dry. Here's to hot soup and bright sunshine!

Dear Voters of Berkeley County

On your ballot, you will notice 3 names running for Berkeley County Commission. The whole county gets to choose two names from the three candidates however please realize H.D. Boyd has no opponent, the race is between John Hardy and Dirk Stansbury. If you vote for John and Dirk you essentially cancel your vote for both.

I believe this is an issue that needs to be addressed in future elections for the County Commissioner and Board of Education. I will be sponsoring legislation to ensure it is much easier to understand who is running against who.
