BCSO IDENTIFIES SUSPECT IN ARMED CARJACKING INVESTIGATIION

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect involved in an armed carjacking that occurred on May 31, 2026, at approximately 4:18 p.m. at Roc's Gas Station, located at 1100 Shepherdstown Road in Martinsburg.
According to investigators, a family was stopped at the gas station while addressing a flat tire when an unidentified male approached their vehicle and threatened them with a firearm. The suspect demanded the occupants exit the vehicle and threatened to shoot them if they did not comply. The victims safely exited the vehicle, and the suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.
Witnesses described the suspect as a tall Black male with dreadlocks, wearing all black clothing and carrying a backpack. Witnesses also reported that what appeared to be a sword was protruding from the top of the backpack.
A short time later, authorities in Washington County, Maryland advised that the suspect had abandoned the stolen vehicle in their jurisdiction and subsequently carjacked a second vehicle at gunpoint. Law enforcement officers attempted to apprehend the suspect; however, the pursuit was later terminated.

UPDATE โ€“
